Children Services

The Resource Coordination Department oversees programs for children from birth through age 17 and their families, including:

Early Intervention

Early Intervention services offers therapy and educational supports to children birth to three with developmental delays or disabilities. These services are designed to enhance the capacity of families to support their child’s well being, development, learning and full participation in their communities. Services are coordinated by a Resource Coordinator to address desired functional outcomes and are provided in families’ everyday routines and activities.

Family Support Services

Family Support Services Program (FSSP) provides individualized supports and services to families who are caring for a family member with developmental disabilities/delays. The Family Support program links families with community resources and provides limited financial resources to meet needs which are beyond typical child-rearing and daily living expenses.

The Children's Extensive Support (CES) Program is a Medicaid waiver designed to serve children who have intensive behavioral and/or medical needs. The eligibility criteria include children 0-17 years old who have been determined to have a developmental disability. The child must reside in the family's home and need direct supervision and intervention consistently for 20 out of 24 hours each day.

Children's Home & Community-Based Services

Children’s Home and Community-Based Services (C-HCBS) is a Medicaid Waiver Program designed to provide Medicaid benefits to children with disabilities or medical conditions who are at risk of hospitalization or nursing facility placement, and who would otherwise not be eligible for Medicaid due to parental income.

Children with Autism

The Children With Autism (CWA) Waiver is a program for children ages birth to 6 years that have a medical diagnosis of Autism. This waiver may be accessed for up to two years and does not continue past your child’s 6th birthday. The intent of the Autism Waiver program is to provide intensive behavioral supports and services for young children with Autism.
