The Colorado Crisis Steering Committee is a group of diverse stakeholders that are working together to provide recommendations to the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) on how to improve and enhance the State’s system that provides support to people with mental health conditions and/or substance use disorder(s). The system in Colorado includes five modalities: (1) a 24-hour hotline staffed by professional counselors and peers; (2) mobile services; (3) walk-in centers; (4) crisis stabilization centers; and (5) respite. The Committee hopes to identify system efficiencies that will improve response in all communities and reach those populations at highest risk. The Committee will produce a report by June 30th outlining its recommendations for CDHS.

Information: The Committee is requesting that people who have used or are using the system for themselves or their loved ones complete this survey so that we can solicit input. This survey is anonymous. This survey will be open until Friday, May 25th, 2018. You are invited to forward this survey to other stakeholders. (In case the embedded link does not work, you can find the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/N8ZVBPQ. Or, the survey can be printed and mailed to: SHG Advisors, P.O. Box 9055, Denver CO 80209.

 Communication Brief

The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing has published a report on Individual/Family/Advocate (IFA) Survey results to date and has rolled out a revised IFA Survey. Since July 2015, the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing has been running a survey designed to assess the experience of individuals receiving Medicaid HCBS in the context of the HCBS Settings Final Rule. The survey includes questions tailored for each of the three key categories of respondents: individuals receiving Medicaid HCBS, their family members and friends, and their advocates. Stakeholders may take the survey as often as they like. The survey has been available in English and Spanish and in hard-copy and online formats. https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/hcpf/home-and-community-based-services-settings-final-rule

Weekly Communication Briefs 4-12-2017

The first Denver area meeting is on April 19th, so it would be good to get it up before the weekend if possible.   This is an example of what I would like to emphasize as something current or new on our homepage to attract visitor’s attention to it, if at all possible.  I understand you might not have time to edit our website home page in time to get this called out before next week, but in the next couple months I anticipate needing to post more information and time-sensitive announcements that our stakeholders will want to know about.
