Our Mission

Our Mission

North Metro Community Services recognizes the importance of providing community-based services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities that will support, promote, and maintain the qualities inherent in any person’s quest for human dignity. The agency’s mission is to afford every person receiving services the opportunity to learn and develop the qualities of self-reliance, self-respect, personal responsibility, and the independence necessary to maximize each person’s self-fulfillment and potential development.

Our Vision

All people, regardless of their disability, should have access to opportunities that are supportive of their efforts to achieve equality, respect, and human dignity in their workplace, community, and lives.

Our History

North Metro Community Services is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1964 by a group of concerned citizens who insisted on innovative, life-enhancing alternatives to institutionalization for persons with developmental delays/disabilities. Over the years, we have continued to expand upon that founding vision. Today, services have expanded in the areas of vocational, residential, community recreation, early intervention, transportation, and supported living services. It is our goal to provide opportunities for choices that encourage personal growth and involvement in community activities for people who receive services. North Metro understands the challenges and obstacles that affect people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and we are committed to help.
