Welcome to 2024 and our new North Metro Website. It was time for an update, especially with the changes around Case Management and I hope you find the new design attractive and useful.

2023 was a hard year at North Metro. After talking about Conflict-Free Case Management for over two decades it finally happened and now we are no longer providing Case Management. As of November 1, the new contractor, Rocky Mountain Human Services has taken over those responsibilities for both Denver and Adams County. The actual handover of responsibilities went smoothly but Rocky Mountain is playing catch-up and is still working to get up to speed on all the people they now need to serve. Unfortunately, there were also some glitches at the State level where people were assigned to the wrong Case Management Agency or weren’t assigned to an agency at all.

As part of the transition, North Metro hired two former case management staff, Angi Harding and Ana Ramirez to provide some extra help to people in Adams County who need help establishing or maintaining eligibility and with other issues involving their case management services. They are working hard to establish the proper connections with Rocky Mountain Human Services so they can better assist folks in Adams County. This is a work in progress but I am confident they are going to provide great service to people here.

North Metro will be celebrating a major milestone this year as it celebrates 60 years of supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. North Metro was incorporated back in 1964 by a group of parents who wanted more opportunities for their children with IDD. North Metro has grown and changed over those 60 years as it evolved to better serve the needs of those that we support. This summer we are going to be taking some time to celebrate. We have a planning committee working on the details and will be releasing more information about the event this spring so be sure to stay tuned!

Another upcoming event you may be interested in is the ARC of Adams County’s Resource Fair. North Metro is proud to be a sponsor of this event which will be held on April 10 from 12-5 at the Adams County Human Services Building located at 11860 N. Pecos in Westminster. There will be a number of informative speakers, you can find more details on their website at www.arcadams.org.

Once again, welcome to our new website.
